EPCIS 2.0, the GS1 standard for events
EPCIS (Electronic Product Code Information Services) is the GS1 standard for exchanging traceability events: what, when, where, why. Each part's history can be exported as EPCIS 2.0 in JSON-LD, using the CBV (Core Business Vocabulary).
- production → commissioning;
- shipping → shipping, receipt → receiving;
- installation → installing, removal → removing;
- inspection → inspecting, repair → repairing;
- disposal → decommissioning.
A REST API for your systems
Each organisation creates its own API keys, read-only or read and write. Your systems can browse the catalogue of shared products, find a part by GTIN and serial number or by GIAI, read its history and record new events.
Access rights are the same as in the user interface: a key only gives access to the data its organisation is allowed to see.
A GS1 Digital Link resolver
GS1 Digital Link addresses (/01/{GTIN}/21/{serial number}, /8004/{GIAI}) encoded in QR Codes are resolved by the platform: a scan leads straight to the part record.
Frequently asked questions
What is EPCIS?
A GS1 standard that describes supply chain events in a standardised way, so that different systems can exchange and understand them.
How do I get an API key?
An administrator of your organisation creates it in the application, under Organisation. The key is shown only once, when it is created.
Does an API key give access to all data?
No: it only gives access to the data its organisation is allowed to see, under the same sharing rules as the user interface.
